THE PROLOGUE
Enter Chorus.
My friends, the Bard of Stratford once did say,
in truth to everyman, “the Things the Play!”
…er,..well,…something on that effect.
If, as he observed, “all the World’s a Stage”
this fine troupe has here, within this cage, 5
captured a play for you.

This tale is, of course, a small history
concerning our nation’s Presidency.
A man, Richard Milhous Nixon by name,
who rose to high office, but, all the same, 10
had an abundance of difficulty
in controlling all the iniquity
that crept up from within to hinder him.

So sit, friend, in your comfortable chair
and hear the tale the players now prepare. 15
[Exit.]
